The Owl Jacket (?)
My favourite piece that I have made in a while. Full of flowing folds and layers, 8 pockets and a unique cut of sleeve makes this jacket supremely comfy. The pattern took an age to draft but somehow worked first try, and what was was meant to be a practice piece from spare fabric has become a wardrobe staple 🪡
made to orders with varying fabrics/details soon.

Black, single-pleat, three pocket jeans made from an off-grade stretch denim.
These get more and more comfy by the day. I made these jeans a few weeks ago pretty much in one sitting during a spell of inevitable illness upon moving back to uni. originally a test pair for a new pattern, a good pair of black trousers are hard to take off. Pleats at the front and back allow for a balanced shape and an even drape, creating a consistent and comfortable silhouette despite the thinner fabric.
similar garments will be available soon at karaia.uk

The Kitchin Jacket
Blue cotton twill, off-white stitching, metal hardware, cheeky lighter pocket, hand embroidered chest pocket using offcuts. and what feels like a hundred more features. This jacket took a few weeks to design, draft and construct, but was worth every minute.
Bespoke made for the man himself @jk1tchthomas and wonderfully captured as ever by @noah_air_max .
Custom Jeans, for Noah.
These are made out of a 12oz 'Cobalt' Denim, with a light blue top stitch and some very fun pocket detailing!
This was such a lovely design to bring to life, from the coin pockets the embroidery, to the jacron patch made out of scraps from previous projects.
Vintage repaired Levi's 501 buckle-back-bonanza !
Found these beautiful jeans in a state of somewhat disrepair, and having never been too keen on the ripped jeans n knobbly knees look, I've been trying out some embroidery methods of repair, very much inspired by traditional Sashiko repair styles.
more to come ! ! ! ! !

the first pair of Jeans i ever made, from design, to pattern, to product.
What started as a last resort plan for my final project in art school, where I was somewhat disillusioned with the teaching and practicing of fine art within education, became the springboard for a passion and vocation. I made a film of the construction process (which has since been lost), but the process of searching for fabric, cash in hand bartering in a Shepard's Bush fabric shop, and discovering the care and detail that making clothes requires was an invaluable process. These Jeans habe seen many repairs and alterations over the last 2 years of wear, a relationship extended to every custom piece I make- Our relationship with designers, ateliers, and tailors shouldn't stop the moment we click purchase. Our clothes should take time, tell a story, and help slow down our fashion habits and protect the environment.
